Matthew J. Hollingsworth joined Ashenden & Associates, P.C. in February 2019.
He focuses on helping people injured as a result of the negligence and recklessness of others. He has experience working with Georgia courts in civil litigation matters including automobile collisions, tractor trailer collisions, medical malpractice, slip and fall, premises liability, dog bites, and other catastrophic injury matters.
Matthew has experience in all stages of litigation, including pre-suit investigations, discovery, depositions, motions practice, settlement and mediation, and trial. Prior to Ashenden & Associates, P.C., Matthew worked at a boutique litigation firm in Buckhead where he represented both plaintiffs and national insurance companies, teaching him the ins and outs of the insurance industry’s handling of claims.
He litigated hundreds of personal injury and insurance defense matters, and acted as first-chair counsel in jury and bench trials. This background has prepared him with the ability to fight aggressively and strategically for accident victims and their families. Prior to practicing law, Matthew gained extensive knowledge of Atlanta’s legal market as a consultant focusing on direct hire legal staff placements.
In his personal life, Matthew is an at-large Board Member on the Berkeley Park Neighborhood Association. Matthew and his fiancé Michelle have lived in Atlanta for over five years, along their two dogs, Jazzy Belle and Stella.
Matthew grew up in Gwinnett County, Georgia and graduated with his undergraduate degree in Economics from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. Interested in the advocacy and alternative dispute resolution program, Matthew attended law school at the Pennsylvania State Dickinson School of Law. Matthew focused his studies primarily on civil procedure, evidence, and trial advocacy, and earned his Juris Doctorate in 2013.
